KINDERGARTEN SCREENING PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The GHPTG is looking for volunteers Wednesday 5/11, Thursday 5/12 and Friday 5/13 to assist with Kindergarten Screening.

We have not been able to participate in the K Screening process for the past 2 years and are excited for the opportunity to support school staff with this big event once again.

  • Greeting parents and children, handing out nametags

  • Handing out GHPTG take home gift to exiting children

  • Selling apparel and Goosehill spirit wear

  • Dropping off water and snacks

FIELD DAY 6/2

 

Field Day will take place on June 2. This year parents are welcome to attend and cheer on students as they move through games and relay races. Field Day is a full day of school. 

 

Kindergarten 9:00 - 10:00 AM

First Grade 10:30 - 11:45 AM

FIRST GRADE READING PICNICS

Following Field Day first grade parents are invited to stay for a reading picnic with their children. Teachers will provide you with more details, but you can expect to pack lunch for you and your child to enjoy and stay about an additional 30-40 minites after Field Day ends. 

 

* Please note: if you are unable to attend your child's reading picnic you can arrange to have a grandparent or other special adult attend in your place. Just let the teacher know. 

KINDERGARTEN LITERACY CELEBRATION

Kindergarten classes will have a literacy celebration with parents during the month of June. Date TBD. Look for info from your child's teacher.

FIRST GRADE MOVING UP CEREMONIES 6/21

We will hold three ceremonies for first grade moving up (class schedule below). Due to space limitations, audience members are limited to PARENTS ONLY.Siblings are not allowed except in the case of twins who may be in different ceremonies. After each 30-minute ceremony parents will have time to take photos with the children. Parents will receive a detailed invitation in the coming weeks. 

 

Moving Up Day is a full day of school and the first graders will enjoy special activities in the afternoon including yearbook signings.

  • 9:00 - 9:45 AM - Mrs. Sloan and Mrs. Villa's classes

  • 10:15 - 11:00 AM - Miss Andreacchi, Mrs. DeRop, and Mrs. Katz's classes

  • 11:30 - 12:15 PM - Mrs. Riggles and Mrs. Comerford's classes

WEST SIDE RUN

After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, West Side School is celebrating the 28th Anniversary of the West Side Run on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at 8 AM. The run will pay tribute to former West Side Principal Ted Hilton. The event is comprised of 1 mile and 5k run route around West Side School. All members of the CSH community and incoming West Side students are invited to participate.

SEPTO VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

SEPTO is looking for parents to join their board for the 2022-23 school year. Joining the SEPTO board provides an opportunity to have an impact on Special Education in our district and support other parents of children receiving services. Whether you are a seasoned parent with older children or a new one in the process - the Septo board provides a wonderful opportunity to get involved. Applications are due May 9th. EARTH DAY PLANTINGS

On May 5th Goosehill students celebrated Earth Day with plantings around the school. The PTG and the Three Harbors Garden Club sponsored plantings included flowers and native plants and pollinators.
